Sure I remember and a lot of the store fronts had these big rollup awnings and if it was raining out you could walk on Broadway from a little beyond kenmore almost to lawrence and hardly get wet. other than intersections there were a few open spots but not many.

this my friends is what a neighborhood Was. this was Uptown at it's finest,
I my mind,I can still picture this intersection all 4 corners
I can't explain Uptown as it was then
you just sorta had to be there
