Marvin Isley, the bass player who helped give R&B powerhouse the Isley Brothers their distinctive sound, died at a Chicago hospital over the weekend. He was 56. Isley died Sunday morning in a hospice at Weiss Memorial Hospital, at 4646 N. Marine Dr. in the Uptown neighborhood, hospital spokeswoman Catherine Gianaro said.
